Before people ask why (if anyone even reads my blog, that is), one of the reasons I rarely update this is because of the lack of support for my main browser (Safari), to post I was required to use a different, slower (sometimes painfully slow) browser (Firefox) on my iBook. That and I’m paying £70/year ($146) for my .mac account that’s not being used much other than spam email intake, so I’m moving my blog over to my iWeb site. See ya there.

Having a few issues with my car recently, after a week of it not starting proporly my uncle agreed to take it down his works again, found out I have a blown head gasket, £200+ for a new one… great.
Lucky for me he has a friend that owns a scrap yard, and they have a car there with the same engine type, gonna be £60 for them to crack the engine open and take the head gasket from there, still not great but it’s better than £200 I don’t have right now.

My PCs power supply fried last week too, about half hour after I turned it on it just died on me, smell of burning coming from the back of it, looks like the fans gone and now it’s burned itself out.

Just waiting for number 3 now…

As far as in game, due to my PC exploding on me I’ve not been on much, only for LS events or when I’ve been poked over AIM. Some drama between DST and TO has more or less caused DSTs endgame activities to halt, sad to see a good shell die out so fast over drama with another shell. I had already left the shell before that happened though, after tracking ToDs of King Arthro for over a week for the LS and nobody interested, then having one of the sackholders claim the 1st belt for himself because I missed one ToD due to emergency maintenance while I was in work… It really got on my nerves after trying to help the shell and have another sackholder stick a knife in my back, only melee job he had levelled that can use it at the time was BST of all jobs, knowing him he’s gonna claim the belt for his MNK now… /sigh.

My DRK is now Lv75, need to go over my gear upgrades again soon, my PLD is now un-retired, I’ll need it for the new endgame shell… It’s more fun than I remember it being, probably because now I have other jobs levelled so when the PLD grind gets bad, I can switch. Merit-wise, I’ve not been doing much meriting, almost finished scythe upgrades, but I’ll need to cap out HP, enmity+ and shield skill first for PLD now before I return to DRK merits.

Joined BigGameHunters recently too, still on my 2 week trial before I get a definite yes or no for my acceptance into the shell, they have a very good group of people that work together well, did my 1st Kirin fight with them last Friday, went very well I thought, survived astral flow but I still managed to get owned somehow.

Did my 1st dyna run since febuary with JoS Minivan, Dynamis-Jeuno, 23 people and we almost got the mega boss too, 2 failed pulls and not enough time left to attempt a 3rd, 2 pairs of melee gloves dropped and a pair of abyss flanchard dropped, both pairs of melee gloves auto-sorted, the abyss flanchard went to another DRK75 that wanted them. I managed to get myself one-shotted near the start, guillotine met by a 1.1k eagle eye shot.

Tuesday night was a CoP run night for BGH, Ouryu (Mission 4-2) went down fast with a melee heavy group, went with PLD DRK DRG RNG WHM BLM, only one death on the way to the battlefield area, met up with another group doing Mammets (2-5) at the same time, they won their fight too, next mission is Sacrarium (4-3) for us, we’re waiting there for people to catch up.

Another reason I haven’t been on much is I’ve bought myself Halo 3 and SEGA Rally for my 360, so I’ve been playing those alot when I wasn’t needed on FFXI, it’s going to take a while for Halo 3 matchmaking lists to even themselves out, I’m just hoping I don’t get dragged into playing it 24/7 for months on end like I did Halo 2. I’m glad they’ve sorted the matchmaking that that tries to match you with players in your region of the world, of 30 matchmade games I’ve only bumped into 6 Americans, not saying I prefer avoid Americans mind, alot of my friends online are from America, but the cross-Atlantic latency issue is often a cripling one where 1/10th of a second matters, unfortunatly most can’t seem to understand this, and are usually too busy yelling “F’kin Brih’ we beet/saved you in tha wawr!” anyway…

Eugh…

Today, I feel like shit, got about 4 hours of sleep total, woke up sweating in bed, 10 minutes later I’ve got my head down the pan bringing back up last nights bagels… Sure as hell didn’t taste as nice this time round.

Phoned in sick, my works phone back asking of there’s a remote chance I’d be able to make it in, I can’t even keep water down and they expect me to take something so I can go in…

Recently I bought myself a car, a Fiat Cinquecento, 1993 K reg, nice small car for my 1st, insurance wasn’t too bad considering my age and the fact that it’s my 1st (Thanks to the “Boy Racers” anyone bloke under the age of 25 gets right royally fucked up the arse for insurace). I haven’t had the chance to drive it much yet, my uncle works for Fiat, so he’s taken it up his works and it is currently having a full service.

Onto some FFXI updates.

Recently Bleuey moved servers to Seraph, meaning we will not be able to get Windurst rank 10 together as planned, but after hearing what she has been through in real life and in game in the past months, I can understand why she wanted off Ifrit, just hope she doesn’t bump into any shit like she did here.

Tarutaru endgame has officially begun, DeathSquadTarus has started sky runs, we plan to measure ourselves up against Jormungand soon so we can fuck up in a nice secluded area where we won’t me made to look like complete fools (we hope).

My DRK is now 73, and I’ve started going over some serious equipment upgrades (In my To-Dos) which are likely to cost me alot, a 150ish STR SAWS setup is down on paper, accuracy and haste setups are being planned out too.
